Questions
What is Hubskillz?
Hubskillz is a shared directory of approved AI agent skills for a team. Each skill has one approved version. The hubskillz CLI installs that version into Claude Code on every machine and in every project, then reports which skills are in sync, drifted, customized or missing.
What is an agent skill?
A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file, plus any support files, that teaches an AI coding agent a procedure: a code review checklist, a tone of voice, a release process. Claude Code loads skills from ~/.claude/skills and from <repo>/.claude/skills. Hubskillz versions those folders and keeps every copy on the approved version.
Which tools does Hubskillz work with?
Claude Code today, through the hubskillz CLI. claude.ai through a ZIP export, recorded per account as “exported v3 on August 26”. The directory stores each skill in a host-neutral form, so one approved version can serve Cursor and Codex once their exporters ship.
Does it work with skills installed from skills.sh?
Yes. A skill installed with npx skills add is pinned at its installed version. When skills.sh publishes a newer one, no machine changes until a maintainer reads the diff, checks the Snyk and Socket audit results, and approves. Skills your team wrote go through the same review.
What happens to a skill I customized?
Nothing, unless you ask. The CLI compares the installed content with every known version. A skill that matches none is reported as customized and left in place by sync. Pass --force to replace it, or run hubskillz push to send your edit to the directory as a draft.
Is Hubskillz free?
Yes for one person: unlimited skills, machines and projects, with no time limit. The Team plan adds roles, reviews and shared team lists. It costs €9 per seat per month billed yearly, or €12 billed monthly, and opens soon.
Do I need a terminal?
Developers run the CLI, one command per machine. Everyone else works in the browser: read a skill, propose a change, review the diff, approve, export a ZIP for claude.ai.
Where is my data hosted?
The database runs on Neon in a data center in the European Union, the API on Railway in the Netherlands and the web app on Vercel. Your skills remain your property. The CLI is open source under the MIT license.
